Our Leaders

Pastor Adam and Rachel Gates :
Pastor Adam and Rachel graduated from Rhema Bible Training Center in Broken Arrow, OK at which time they joined our ministry team. Adam served as Associate Pastor until the 2nd of December 2006 when he took on the responsibilities of Pastor.

Pastor Tommy and Jacquita Fields: Church Founders. Pastor Tommy went home to be with the Lord on the evening of the 29th of November 2006.
Pastor Tommy Fields was born and raised in Kingsport, TN. He was a 1977 graduate of Ketron High School after which he attended Kingsport Center for Biblical Studies. He was actively involved with Campus Crusade for Christ and Young Life Ministries during his early years of ministry. He then pursued his calling and graduated from Rhema Bible Training Center in Broken Arrow, OK in 1979.
Jacquita, was born and lived most of her life in Calhoun, LA. She is a 1979 graduate of Eureka Springs High School. She and Pastor Tommy married that same year and pioneered their first church in Monroe, LA the following year. Following the direction of the Holy Spirit and the merging of the church with another they traveled northeast and pioneered On Fire Family Church in April of 1984. Jacquita continues in all of her many responsibilities with On Fire Family Church as Church Founder and Senior Staff member.

Pastor Tommy and Jacquita have three children. Two of the three children were born in Murphy. They have all been actively involved in the church throughout their lives. Rachel, their oldest, and her husband, Adam Gates,have graduated from Rhema Bible Training Center and are now serving in the role of Pastor. Thomas, their only son, has graduated from Lee University with a degree in business. Thomas and his wife Andrea are now living in Murphy and are a vital part of the church. Their youngest daughter, Tiffany and her husband Colby Jenkins after graduating from Rhema Bible Training Center have returned to fill the role of childrens ministers.

Music Ministers

Rick and LaNita Harris
Rick and LaNita Harris have held the office of Music Ministers since 1985. Rick and LaNita moved to Hayesville from Salt Lake City Utah, where they were the music ministers at Full Armor Bible Institute. Rick is originally from Northwest Virginia. He is now a flight instructor and professional pilot. He also provides computer networking and fiber-optic service. LaNita born and raised in Hector, Minnesota, started singing solos at the age of 7. She has been a part of trios, church and college choirs. LaNita is an RN working in the outpatient department at Murphy Medical Center after working 14 years for Good Shepherd Home Health in Hayesville. Rick and LaNita have one son, Jeremiah, who has graduated from Faith is the Victory Bible School in Nashville and is a junior at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, TN. Jeremiah also leads our intercessory prayer meetings on Sunday evenings at On Fire Family Church and will be attending Rhema Bible Training Center in the fall of 2006.

Youth Leaders

Michael and Robbi Williams
Michael and Robbi Williams moved from the Charlotte area to Murphy in 1999. Michael is an Army veteran and is a Firefighter with the Forest Service. Robbi is a 1990 graduate of our local Hiawassee Dam High School. They have been members of OFFC since 2000 and have done a dynamic job leading our youth department.

Rick Coffey and his wife, Wanda are natives to this area. They have been members of On Fire Family Church since 1984. Rick and Wanda have three married children and three grandchildren.

Terry Whitson and his wife, Debbie live in Kingsport, TN. Bro. Terry is a 1979 graduate of Rhema Bible Training Center in Broken Arrow, OK. He and Debbie pioneered Restoration Fellowship Church in Kingsport. He is currently employed by Campus Crusade for Christ as a regional coordinator for the Jesus Video Project.
